FEEDING THE HUNGRY
TRM Ministries is responsible for the planning, preparing and serving on average 24,000 meals per month in our dining room 7 days a week. The food served consists primarily of food donations from the community.
For those TRM guests unable to be present during meal times, sack lunches are provided by request. Sack lunches are also kept on hand to feed others who come to us with a need. Meeting this need requires making approximately 1,200 sandwiches per week. A typical sack lunch includes 2 lunchmeat sandwiches, chips, fruit or a fruit cup, a granola bar and a dessert. Supplies needed include 120 loaves of bread and approximately 300 lbs of lunch meat each week.
During Covid-19 we continue to provide sack meals that include items for supper and breakfast to those from the community at large. These sack meals are distributed out of the kitchen door of our Main Shelter on the east side of 600 N Kansas Ave, Monday-Friday from 6 - 6:30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 5 - 5:30pm. TRM's kitchen feeds an average of 150 guests every day and provides meals to hundreds more in our community. This task would be impossible if not for the amazing help of you, our community volunteers, to serve those who are counting on us for their daily food.
TRM Ministries relies on donations of food from individuals, churches, businesses and other partnering agencies to meet the daily needs of our guests. Our most pressing food needs are updated on our needs list.
