General

Be a part of the 13th annual Miracle On Kansas Avenue parade! You may run or walk the former parade route one hour before the parade begins. 4 mile participants will do 2 loops and recreational walkers will do one loop from the start / finish lines.

Enjoy the cheers and support of hundreds of spectators as they eagerly await the annual Downtown Topeka kickoff of the Christmas holiday season. Holiday lights and decorations will provide an especially festive atmosphere as you wind your way along Kansas Avenue.

Awards!

  • All preregistered participants will receive an event T-shirt with their entry fee. Late entrants cannot be guaranteed T-shirt availability.
  • Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, to the first male and female Masters finishers (over 40), and to the first male and female Sr. Masters finishers (over 50).
  • Age group awards will presented to the first three male and female finishers in age groups beginning with ages 10 and under and proceeding upwards in five year increments.

Awards Ceremony

The Awards Ceremony will be presented inside the Sweet Building as soon as official results are tabulated.

Rules and Safety Guidelines

  • For insurance purposes and the safety of all involved, runner's are not allowed to push strollers. Walkers may do so as long as they start at the rear of the pack and do not block the progress of runner's at any time during the event.
  • ALL participants are required to wear their race number, visible on their front side at all times during the event.
  • ALL participants are instructed to position themselves in the proper area of the pack at the start line so as to not impede the progress of faster participants behind them.
  • NO participant may wear headsets, earphones, or IPOD's, skates or rollerblades, or bring animals or bikes on the race course at any time during the event.
  • The race course will be closed to all vehicle traffic until the parade starts at 6:00 PM. However, please be aware and alert for spectators who may get in the way as they attempt to travel to their preferred position along the parade route.
  • All participants must sign and date the waiver and correctly complete the mail in registration form. or register online

Parking

Free parking will be available in the First United Methodist Church parking lot at 6th and Topeka Blvd and in areas north and west of the start / finish lines near 6th and Harrison. Early arrival is recommended as many parade goers will be seeking those same parking spots.

Meal

A post-race meal will be provided courtesy of Topeka's Jersey Mike's Subs for all registered participants inside the Sweet Building of First United Methodist Church. Other snacks and beverages will be provided courtesy of area merchants.
